Founded by Karla and Debbie, bringing together experience in disability support, HR and management.

Our story

How Anchor began.

Karla and Debbie worked together in disability support and saw an opportunity to combine their experience. Debbie brought years of hands-on support work, while Karla brought a background in HR, management, operations and compliance.

They wanted to build a service that puts participants first, with the people and processes in place to organise support well.

Meet Our Founders

Karla and Debbie bring different skills to Anchor and both take part in planning and organising your support.

Debbie leads hands-on support and training. Karla looks after operations and compliance.

Karla worked as an HR Manager in the disability support sector before co-founding Anchor. That experience shaped a clear goal: to put participants first and make sure the business behind their support is well run.

Karla brings a background in HR and management to the day-to-day operations of Anchor, with a focus on clear processes, compliance and a respectful workplace.

Karla is also a photographer and enjoys helping people. Anchor is a way to put those people skills and management experience to work.

Debbie

Director, Senior Support Worker & Trainer

Debbie has worked in disability support for more than 20 years, supporting people in home, community and hospital settings.

She brings a caring nature and years of practical experience to her work. Debbie takes time to get to know each person and understand how they like to be supported.

As Senior Support Worker and Trainer, Debbie provides hands-on support and shares her experience with the team through training and guidance.
